Spanning a century from the 1830s to the 1930s, this story follows the fortunes of three generations of an Australian family. Through the eyes of the women of this family, Anna, Mary and Grace, we see the challenges and changes that so many families experienced. From migration from southern England as labourers for landholders in colonial New South Wales through the years of the gold rush, the rise and collapse of businesses, births and tragic deaths and long marriages, economic depressions, and a World War, in a city and on the land, we travel through the human drama of ordinary women and their families. Their Christian faith, with its questions and securities, was at the heart of their family life.
